Now that Reggie has come out of hiatus and lots of great things are happening behind-the-scenes with her, I figure this is the best way for us all to keep up!

So if you've read the latest news, you now know that You're Too Much, Reggie Brown is headed for KOL, AOL's online service for kids! Do you understand how huge this is? Introducing Reggie to hundreds of thousands of new readers? I swear, I'm thisclose to doing a backflip (and that would be a sight to see, I promise you). According to KOL's Programming Manager, Michael Strickland, Reggie is debuting on December 28th and will be featured on the KOL Bookshelf main page through January 4th, after which she'll be archived on the KOL Bookshelf along with some other pretty impressive (and rather popular) young reader characters! Reggie, being the spunky young lady that she is, will be quite comfortable there, I assure you. And in true Reggie fashion, she'll stand out among the crowd--in this case as one of less than a handful of characters targeted at an African American reading audience. Awesome.

Since I'm a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due, let me take this moment to thank KOL's Assistant Editor, Toni Clark, for putting my book in the right hands. There's no way it would've moved along as quickly as it did (if at all) without her help.

If you're new to Reggie Brown, take a moment to read a story excerpt or two as I post them...and please leave comments. If you're already a fan, I invite you to chime in with a few words of your own. And as always, I thank you so much for supporting me and my work these past few years.

kj

P.S. Psssst! If anyone sees Catherine Daly, Editorial Director of Paperbacks at Scholastic, put a little bug in her ear about the Reggie Brown series, okay? Scholastic would be a perfect place for this kid to settle in, don't you think?
